My experience learning English vocabulary

Where does this idea come from?

LingoPick was inspired by my own experience studying for the IELTS test. Like many students, I found memorizing words very hard and boring. I spent hours every day trying to learn word lists, but after a few weeks, I forgot most of them. So, I decided to try a different way.

I started learning new words by reading English news and stories. When I found a word I didn’t know, I would translate it and write it down, then keep reading. I focused on understanding words in the sentence, not just memorizing them alone.

This way helped me in four big ways:

  1. I didn’t need extra time to learn words — I learned them while reading.
  2. I remembered words better because I saw them in sentences.
  3. I repeated words without trying — seeing them again and again helped me remember.
  4. I didn’t waste time on rare words — reading helped me focus on important words.

After two months of this, I got the IELTS score I wanted and had the chance to study in Canada.

LingoPick was made from this learning experience. If you want to grow your English vocabulary or get ready for a test, I believe it can help you too.

Good luck with your studies!
